	: Failed Sample SEPA responded quickly to investigate the failure by taking follow up samples and inspecting drainage outfalls. Bacterial levels in the Stanley burn were not unusually high for urban streams and Scottish Water reported no abnormal operations or signs of pollution. The cause of this failure was most likely to be diffuse drainage from both urban and rural areas as there was a slight rainfall event (< 5 mm rainfall) following 5 weeks of largely dry weather.
